Suzuki Alto (Q4)
The new Suzuki Alto city car is scheduled to arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2014. Suzuki insiders say the A:Wind concept (pictured) shown at the recent Thailand International Motor Expo is “pretty close” to the final form of the next Alto, and at 3600mm long, 1600mm wide and 1500mm high, is appreciably longer and taller than the outgoing model. Power will come courtesy of a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine matched to either a manual or automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT). To stay competitive in the hotly contested micro-car market, base pricing will have to stay in the region of $12,000.
